I-Bay Bald Eagle
Presentation

We collected what appears to be one Hemimysis anomala from a bottle trap off the west pier at Olcott, NY on 6/27/07.  The trap was deployed at the base of the pier (on the creek side) over rocky substrate on 6/26 (2:45 pm)and retrieved at 11:32am on 6/27.  Trap was
positioned approximately 1 meter down over 1.75 meters of water depth.  The trap was baited with fish food (Tetra ColorFin Sinking Granules).  Attached are pictures showing the telson and whole body (approximately 6mm in length).  Our technician reported that it was completely pink in color when first collected.  We are continuing with periodic bottle trap surveys at other NY ports on both lakes.

This Sturgeon was caught on the Black River at South Haven Michigan last week.
It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11'1". It was 56" around the girth
and took over 6 and a half hours and 4 dozen beers for the 4 guys taking turns reeling.
